Lawbringer 😼

... Read moreAs a long-time For Honor player, Lawbringer has always held a special place in my heart. There's just something incredibly satisfying about his heavy-hitting, counter-attack playstyle. If you're wondering how to truly shine with this armored behemoth, you've come to the right place. I've spent countless hours in the thick of it, and I'm excited to share my go-to tips for effective Lawbringer gameplay, whether you're new to him or looking to refine your skills. First off, remember that Lawbringer isn't about fast offense; he's a master of patience and punishment. Your primary goal is to bait opponents, block their attacks, and then unleash devastating follow-ups. The 'Shove' after a block is your bread and butter – it disrupts their chain and opens them up for a light attack or a guard break. Don't overuse it, though, as good players will eventually dodge it. Mix it up! Sometimes, just blocking and waiting for another opportunity is the smarter play. Landing that iconic 'Ad Mortem Inimicus' heavy finisher is incredibly rewarding. It deals massive damage, but it's slow. You'll often land it after a successful guard break, a parry punish, or by catching an opponent off guard after a shove. Practice your parries! Lawbringer has some of the best parry punishes in the game, from the 'Impaling Riposte' that lets you carry them into a wall for an extra heavy, to a simple side heavy for good damage. Learning to parry consistently will elevate your Lawbringer game significantly. In team modes like Dominion, Lawbringer shines as a zone defender and ganker. Your 'Long Arm' is fantastic for initiating ganks or disrupting multiple opponents, though it's easily dodged in a 1v1. When you're in a team fight, focus on external blocking and parrying, creating opportunities for your teammates. Don't be afraid to use your unblockable heavy finishers to pressure opponents; even if they block it, the threat alone can open up opportunities. Feats are crucial for Lawbringer. In Dominion, 'Righteous Deflection' (Tier 1) for extra defense, 'Passive' (Tier 2) or 'Juggernaut' (Tier 2) for survivability, 'Pugno Mortis' (Tier 3) or 'Second Wind' (Tier 3) for burst damage or healing, and 'Stun Trap' (Tier 4) or 'Catapult' (Tier 4) for area denial are excellent choices. Experiment to find what fits your playstyle best. For perks, I usually lean towards 'Bulk Up,' 'Bastion,' and 'Vengeful Barrier' to maximize my tankiness and survivability in team fights. Getting those extra 'Renown' points, like a 'SDragonC23 Kill Assist: +5 Renown' example, comes from being an active participant in team fights, revives, and objective control. Lawbringer naturally gets a lot of assists due to his disruptive capabilities. Dealing with faster heroes can be tricky. Don't try to out-speed them. Instead, focus on blocking, parrying, and using your superior range to keep them at bay. Against hyper armor characters, you need to be smart with your shoves and unblockables, waiting for their chains to end. It's a game of observation and reaction. Overall, patience is your greatest weapon as Lawbringer. Don't rush, observe your opponent, and wait for your moment to deliver justice. It takes practice, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be an unmovable force on the battlefield, making every 'Ad Mortem Inimicus' count. Keep practicing those parries, learn your punishes, and you'll be dominating in no time!
