NEW KAYALI Yum Bougee Marshmallow 81 Perfume!

So i purchased this at "Early Access" on Sephora and just got it in the mail yesterday 😒. I literally could've bought this at my local Sephora store the very day after after placing my online order. ANNOYED.

My expectations:

A sweet and creamy marshmallow scent with a burst of strawberries.

My first impression:

A light strawberry shake scent that dries down to a light powdery marshmallow scent with that classic Kayali Vanilla 28 DNA.

The first thing that came to mind was "Ok 😐" lol. This is a fine perfume, nothing innovative 🤷🏾‍♀️. But if the notes are in your wheelhouse, and you like Kayali, then give it a try.

I got a good 3 hours wear out of this.

I will let this sit and homogenize for a couple of weeks, hoping that it becomes richer and stronger. I will report back in a couple of weeks!

... Read moreOkay, so I promised an update after letting my Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow 81 sit for a bit, and I've got some more thoughts to share! When I first sprayed it, I was a little underwhelmed, but letting perfumes macerate can really make a difference. Starting with the big question: Is Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow 81 a summer scent? Honestly, it leans more towards a versatile, year-round gourmand for me. While the initial burst of strawberry does give it a bright, almost juicy summery vibe, the dry-down is a soft, powdery marshmallow with that comforting whipped vanilla and creamy coconut. It's not heavy or cloying, so you could definitely wear it on a cooler summer evening, but it also has enough warmth for fall or winter. It's not a 'fresh' summer scent, but a 'sweet treat' summer scent. Let's talk more about those notes! The strawberry is prominent at first, a sweet, almost candied strawberry, not tart. As it settles, the pink marshmallow really comes through, fluffy and soft. I can definitely pick up the whipped vanilla and a subtle hint of creamy coconut which adds a delicious smoothness. The unexpected touch of freesia and pink musk in the base helps lift it from being just a sugary scent, giving it a slightly more sophisticated edge, though it remains firmly in the gourmand family. It doesn't really give "gummies" to me, but more of a creamy, dreamy dessert vibe. Now, about performance. My initial 3-hour wear time was a bit disappointing. After letting it sit for a few weeks, I've noticed a slight improvement. It now lasts closer to 4-5 hours on my skin, with moderate projection for the first hour or so before settling into a more intimate skin scent. To boost its longevity, I've found layering it with an unscented lotion or a vanilla-scented body cream (like Kayali's own Vanilla 28 body products) really helps. Spraying it on clothes also makes it cling longer. It still retains that classic Kayali Vanilla 28 DNA in the dry-down, which I know many of us adore, but it's definitely softened by the marshmallow and strawberry. If you're looking for that 'marshmallow vanilla perfume aesthetic,' this one absolutely delivers a cozy, sweet, and comforting aura. It's a lovely addition if you're a Kayali fan and enjoy sweet, playful gourmands, but perhaps not a groundbreaking scent that will shock your senses.
