Favorite Books of 2025
I read 75 books in 2025! ✨
Last year was really busy for me, so despite everything, I’m really proud of myself for picking a goal and sticking to it. (Even if it is the only reading goal I managed to accomplish 🤪). My favorite genres to read are typically fantasy, romance, and general fiction.
Among all the cozy reads, the heart-wrenchers, and the magic, there were easily a handful of books that won my heart. Here are my favorite and best-read books from each genre.
✨ Fantasy ✨
📕 I, Medusa by Ayana Gray
📖 Wild Reverance by Rebecca Ross
📕 Bury Our Bones In The Midnight Soil by VE Schwab
📖 The Serpent and The Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent
📕 When The Moon Hatched by Sarah A Parker
📖 Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros

📖 Till Summer Do Us Part by Megan Quinn
📕 If It Makes You Happy Julie Olivia
📖 A Woman Is No Man by Etaf Rum
📕 All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir

Reading 75 books in a single year was both thrilling and challenging for me, especially juggling a busy schedule. What truly helped was setting a clear goal and allowing myself to explore different genres like fantasy, romance, and fiction, which kept the experience fresh and engaging. Among the fantasy reads, "I, Medusa" by Ayana Gray stands out for its unique mythical retelling, blending ancient legends with modern storytelling. Similarly, VE Schwab’s "Bury Our Bones In The Midnight Soil" captivated me with its dark, atmospheric world-building. These titles offered an escape into richly imagined universes that sparked my imagination. On the romance and fiction side, books like "Secret Nights and Northern Lights" by Megan Oliver and "All My Rage" by Sabaa Tahir brought complex emotions and relatable characters to life. These stories made me reflect on relationships, resilience, and personal growth, adding depth to my reading journey. Joining a book club was also a game-changer. It introduced me to diverse voices and stories I might have missed otherwise, including advanced reader copies that expanded my horizon. The sense of community and shared enthusiasm made recommending and discussing these favorites even more rewarding. For anyone looking to enrich their reading list in 2025 or beyond, I recommend setting a manageable reading goal and mixing genres to keep your interest alive. Whether you prefer fantastical realms, heartfelt romances, or thought-provoking fiction, there’s a book out there that can resonate with your mood and curiosity. Lastly, sharing your favorite books with a community—online or offline—can open up new perspectives and deepen your appreciation for the stories you love. What were some of your standout reads this year? Exploring diverse titles can turn reading into a continual adventure filled with discoveries.
