What I drink to help with breastmilk supply!

As breastfeeding moms, we have to stay hydrated to keep ourselves healthy but also be able to keep up with the demand of our babies!

Everything is super affordable! I know how expensive food can get because us moms, we’re more hungry/thirsty than ever!

I do recommend if you are drinking hot chocolate to keep it limited. Chocolate has theobromine, which is a stimulant. This can interfere with baby’s digestion and sleep! It also contains a small amount of caffeine that can also can affect baby!

When I do drink hot chocolate, I like to drink in the morning. That way by the time of night feed, it has passed through my body and shouldn’t interfere with babies sleep!

One of the best hydration sources is water; many women find that they can fill their favorite water bottle multiple times daily to meet this need. Along with plain water, incorporating drinks like coconut water can replenish lost electrolytes, making it an excellent option for hydration. Fenugreek is known as a galactagogue which can enhance breastmilk supply; try drinking fennel tea for its estrogen-like properties that stimulate milk flow. Additionally, oat milk offers a variety of nutrients, ideal for boosting iron levels which are particularly important during breastfeeding. For a warming beverage, hot chocolate can signal increased blood flow to the breasts, but be mindful of its caffeine and theobromine content. Always consider timing your consumption to avoid any potential sleep disruptions for your baby. Lastly, including a hydration supplement like Liquid IV can maximize water absorption, ensuring you and your baby stay healthy and nourished.
