Healing in silence

If you don’t hear from me,

please know it isn’t personal.

Sometimes I’m just quiet.

Sometimes my social battery is empty.

Sometimes I need time to sit with myself,

with my thoughts, with my peace.

I disappear to refill, not to reject.

I rest so I can show up better,

not because I don’t care.

Silence doesn’t mean distance.

It just means I’m taking care of me. 🖤

That's when I know it's time for my own version of 'healing in silence.' It’s more than just being quiet; it’s a deliberate act of self-preservation, a sacred space I create just for myself. For me, "healing in silence" means intentionally stepping away from the noise and demands of everyday life. It's not about being antisocial or ignoring my loved ones; it's about acknowledging my own limits and giving myself permission to just *be*. I've learned that if I don't carve out this time, I can't show up as my best self for anyone, including myself. It's like my soul's reset button. Sometimes, this looks exactly like that beautiful image I saw once – a woman with long dark hair and tattoos, perhaps like me, finding peace in her own space. I picture her sitting on the floor, eyes closed, just being present. That kind of imagery really resonates because it captures the essence of what I strive for. My cozy room becomes my sanctuary. I might brew a steaming mug of herbal tea, put on my headphones with some calming music or a podcast, and get lost in an open book. Or sometimes, I don't do anything at all – just sit with my thoughts, letting them float by without judgment. It’s crucial to understand that this silence isn't a sign of distance or disinterest. Quite the opposite! When I disappear to refill, it’s because I care enough about my relationships and responsibilities to ensure I’m operating from a place of genuine energy and presence, not exhaustion. It's about nurturing my inner world so I can engage more authentically with the outer one. I've found that when I prioritize this quiet time, I'm more patient, more creative, and simply happier. If you’re feeling the pull to 'heal in silence,' I totally encourage it. Start small. Maybe it’s just 15 minutes a day where you put your phone away, close your door, and just breathe. Create your own little haven. What does your ideal "cozy room" look like? What helps you feel grounded? Is it a soft blanket, a warm drink, a journal, or simply staring out the window? Embrace whatever brings you that sense of calm and rejuvenation. Remember, taking care of yourself isn't selfish; it's essential. It allows you to shine brighter when you step back into the world.

I used to be a Pisces... today I walk in the truth that I am a loved, chosen fully equipped child of God and the moments alone I spend with God are Holy.. transforming and healing... but this is how I look too .. he doesn't ask for the perfect, clean cut, polished me but the real me tattoos and scars and tears and all he accepts me for who I really am ..
