Solo flight loading…

Two months into flight school, I can’t believe how far I’ve come.

Today’s flight was all about touch-and-goes. 10 landings: some smooth, some not-so-much 😅

My instructor says I might be ready for my solo soon, which still feels unreal.

Every hour in the cockpit teaches me something new about focus, patience, and confidence.

Next up: pre-solo knowledge check.

Wish me luck! The sky’s getting closer every day. ☁️💪

... Read moreTraining for a solo flight is a significant milestone in any pilot’s journey. It’s not just about logging hours in the cockpit, but also about developing critical skills like precision during landings, quick decision-making, and handling unexpected situations calmly. Touch-and-go exercises, where a pilot practices landing and immediately taking off again without stopping, are fundamental in building muscle memory and confidence. Each landing teaches different lessons, whether it’s managing the aircraft’s speed, angle, or approach path. The pre-solo knowledge check is another essential step. This examination typically covers vital topics such as airspace rules, communication protocols with air traffic control, emergency procedures, and aircraft systems. Passing this test ensures the student pilot is prepared intellectually and practically for the responsibility of flying solo. Many student pilots find that as their solo flight approaches, their confidence grows along with their understanding of aviation. The instructor’s role evolves into a guiding presence rather than direct control, empowering the student to make independent decisions. This transition marks a turning point—where the sky truly starts to feel within reach. For anyone watching or experiencing this stage of training, remember that persistence and practice lead to improvement. Even less-than-perfect landings are part of progress and learning. Maintaining focus and patience is key, especially in a challenging environment like aviation. The journey to a solo flight is as much mental as it is technical, and it always feels rewarding to reach this aviation milestone. Keep following for updates as the first solo flight gets closer!
