Novotel @ Stevens Wedding Venue Recce

First stop in my wedding venue search!

My wants:

• food taste is of priority

• small scale wedding, around 100-120 pax

• accessible

• lunch wedding

Pros:

+ Melvin the sales manager's service was really great. In fact after visiting six venues, I think he still tops it. He's not pushy, doesnt pressure you, offer his tips and thoughts. and most importantly, he is willing to give leeway here and there, not super strict like some hotels i.e. this and that cannot be done

+ He threw in free outdoor solemnisation for us, which would be ideal if you're looking for a dinner reception (less hot). Otherwise according to their brochure, you're supposed to top up $800-1000.

+ Sounds quite flexible in my wants like i want some signages here and there, he agreed without hesitation (compared to some 5⭐ hotels which were v strict)

+ cheapest rate per table (less than $2k)

+ located in town

+ outdoor solemnisation looks so nice!! and dont have to go to sentosa for such vibes haha

Cons:

- food wasnt to my liking

- all guests have to walk through a cafe before reaching the reception

- first impression wise, the lobby space isn't that nice, small and doesn't look atas

- Outdoor solemnisation not recommended for lunch reception (mine) as it'll be v hot

my partner and i prioritised food highly and looking at lunch (outdoor solemn doesnt work in our favour then). hence we are not going with them. but service-wise, they are good!

... Read moreIn my journey of scouting wedding venues, I found Novotel @ Stevens to be quite an interesting option, especially for couples planning a smaller-scale wedding around 100-120 guests. One thing that stood out was the exceptional service provided by the sales manager, Melvin. His approach was refreshingly non-pushy and accommodating, which made the whole site visit more comfortable. The willingness to accommodate personal touches, like additional signages, without strict restrictions was definitely a plus—something not all hotels are open to. The outdoor solemnisation area is particularly charming, surrounded by greenery with cooler fans that would help keep guests comfortable during evening or dinner receptions. If you're thinking of a dinner event, this could be a beautiful alternative to more typical indoor spaces or venues far out like Sentosa. However, from personal experience and as cautioned by the venue, this might not be ideal for lunch weddings due to the heat—something important to keep in mind if you're wanting an outdoor setting during the day. Another practical consideration is the venue layout itself. Guests have to pass through a cafe area before reaching the reception, which might not be appealing to all as it affects the first impressions and flow. The lobby space is relatively small and lacks the luxurious feel some might desire, which could matter if you want a grand entrance or opulent vibe. While the pricing is competitive, especially with rates under $2,000 per table and inclusive perks like a free outdoor solemnisation (normally an $800-$1000 add-on), food quality ultimately influenced our decision not to proceed with this venue. For those prioritizing cuisine above all, it's worth scheduling a tasting and carefully considering if the menu matches your taste Preferences before finalizing any bookings. Overall, Novotel @ Stevens offers great flexibility, ideal location, and strong customer service, which are key factors that could outweigh some cons depending on your wedding priorities. For couples who emphasize service and venue adaptability over glamour or gourmet menus, this could be a cost-effective and accessible town venue choice. However, if your vision includes a refined first impression space or impeccable food quality, further exploration might be needed. Inversely, the outdoor solemnisation area is a standout feature that is not to be overlooked for evening celebrations seeking a serene garden feel.

My Wedding Venue (More Cons Than Pros😭)
Finally revealing my wedding venue! I’ve never wanted to get married in a ballroom because I don’t believe in spending thousands decorating a ‘plain room’ with chandeliers and windows. My dream was always to have a sunset wedding in Bali or a wedding in a vineyard in Aussie. Somewhere with nature.
