Day 13!

Today was not as fruitful as I realised that one of the babies was floating on top and wasn't really that responsive. However it is understood that there will eventually be some inevitable losses due to mother nature. It is extremely common to come across these losses even when you are doing things perfectly right so you shouldn't be too harsh on yourself if that happens!

It should only be alarming when you notice a group of fishes dying together in one go at the same time! When that happens, it is important to trace back your actions and figure out what you have done differently ( Change of diet? Big water changes? Added new tank mates? Water parameters? and etcetera.. ) and rectify the issue from there!

Other than loss, the rest seems to be happy and eating well!

... Read moreWhen caring for baby fish, sometimes you will notice a few pups showing signs of weakness or even floating unresponsive. From my experience, this is quite common and part of the natural challenges of fish breeding. It’s important not to feel discouraged because even with perfect care, some losses are inevitable due to genetics or environmental stress that we might not fully detect. What truly requires your immediate attention is if multiple fish start dying suddenly and simultaneously. That usually signals an underlying problem such as a drastic change in water quality, introduction of unsuitable tank mates, or a sudden dietary shift. To prevent large-scale losses, regularly monitor water parameters such as pH, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. Consistent small water changes rather than large ones help maintain stable conditions. I also learned that baby fish thrive better when their environment closely mimics natural conditions, including having hiding spaces and gentle water flow. Feeding small amounts frequently throughout the day can support their growth and reduce stress. If you ever add new fish or change their diet, observe carefully for any changes in behavior or health. Dealing with these delicate little creatures involves patience and diligence. Celebrate the healthy and active fish, and remember that occasional losses do not mean failure. By tracing back recent changes in your aquarium care routine, you can quickly find and correct issues, ensuring your fish enjoy a happy and growing environment.

KKH subsidised to private
1️⃣ Why KKH? I chose to go KKH for all my pregnancy checkups simply because it is the nearest hospital from my house. It takes only about 20-30min (depending on bus waiting time) from my doorstep to KKH, so it is very convenient. And of course, with KKH being a well-known women's and children&
