Worth giving a try if you’re nearby
Was deciding what to eat for breakfast when Fatty Ang’s signboard caught my eye. Noodles were nicely cooked andpaired well with their chilli. And the soup had a light herbal touch. Char siew was surprisingly good, juicy inside with caramelised outer layer. Didn’t know i can even request different cuts. Next time I’ll definitely ask.

If you’re exploring food options around Ang Mo Kio, Fatty Ang’s wanton noodles offer a delightful mix of traditional flavors with a personal touch. From my experience, the ability to request different cuts of char siew truly sets them apart—you get to enjoy the texture and taste you prefer most. The soup is a unique highlight too, with a subtle herbal flavor that complements the noodles without overpowering them. This light but flavorful broth keeps the whole bowl balanced. The chili sauce is another standout; it’s spicy yet aromatic, making each bite a burst of delicious heat. Many locals frequent this stall for breakfast since it’s open from 6am daily until early afternoon, perfect for early risers or anyone hunting for a satisfying morning meal. The affordability, combined with consistent quality, makes it a great spot for a quick yet fulfilling breakfast. Besides the popular wanton noodle, their menu also features other options like char siew rice and fried wantons, which are worth trying if you want to explore beyond noodles. Overall, whether you’re a fan of traditional Singaporean wanton mee or just looking for a good breakfast spot, Fatty Ang definitely deserves a place on your food map. I plan to revisit and try different meat cuts next time!
