「昭和レトロ街並み」って検索している人は、“懐かしい雰囲気の写真が撮れる場所”と“現地でどう歩くか”が気になることが多い印象です。私も初めてレトロな町並み巡りをしたとき、到着してからの導線が分からず時間をロスしたので、車なし前提で「町並みの楽しみ方」を追記します。 まず、白壁の町並み（近江八幡の白壁土蔵や倉敷美観地区みたいな景観）は、日中の光が強い時間帯ほど壁がきれいに写ります。逆に“昭和の街並み感”を強めたいなら、朝イチか夕方がおすすめ。影が長く伸びて、格子窓や土蔵の凹凸が出て、写真がぐっとレトロになります。人が少ない時間帯でもあるので、「画像映え」狙いの人には特に向いてました。 近江八幡の「白壁の古い町並み」を歩くなら、八幡堀まわりは寄り道前提で時間を確保すると満足度が上がります。白壁土蔵×水辺の組み合わせは、ただ通りを歩くだけより“町並みの奥行き”が出て、散策していて飽きません。歩きやすい靴は必須で、石畳っぽい道や橋の上は意外と足が疲れます。 「昭和レトロ」っぽさを現地で感じたいときは、建物だけじゃなく“看板・暖簾・路地”も見どころ。川越の蔵造りの町並みや高山のさんまち通りは、メイン通りが有名ですが、一本裏の路地に入ると静かで、より古い町並み感が強いカットが撮れました（お店の迷惑にならない範囲でサッと撮るのが安心）。 それと、「東欧 街並み」で探している人は“石造りのヨーロッパ感”を想像しがちですが、日本のレトロ町並みは木造・白壁・格子が中心で、雰囲気は別物です。ただ、金沢のひがし茶屋街や倉敷美観地区は、通りの統一感が強くて「非日常感」はかなり味わえました。東欧っぽさを期待して行くより、“和の美しい街並み”として訪れると満足しやすいと思います。 最後に、町並み巡りは食べ歩きやカフェ休憩もセットにすると歩く距離が自然に伸びます。おかげ横丁みたいに混みやすい場所は、先に写真を撮ってから食べ歩きに回すと、手がふさがらず動きやすくておすすめです。
