New mom basket for my postpartum BFF
My best friend just had a baby so along with food, I am bringing her this basket! This is all things for mom, for her to enjoy, be cozy and snack.
Hydration packs: if you are pumping or breastfeeding, the thirst is real and sometimes water isn’t enough so hydration packets are a must. Plus staying hydrated is great for supply!
Snacks: I swear I was hungrier when breastfeeding than while pregnant and always wanted quick snacks to reach for so I always add some easy snacks for the new mom.
Cozy items: on maternity leave you are home most of the time so being cozy is so necessary. Slippers, a blanket and pjs are great to add for mom!
Skincare: I felt so dry always and being sleep deprived, there was nothing better than skincare. Under eye masks, face masks, chapstick, lotion, hair ties for mom!

Creating a thoughtful postpartum basket is such a meaningful way to support a new mom during an often overwhelming time. From my experience, hydration is absolutely crucial. Breastfeeding or pumping can leave you feeling incredibly thirsty, and hydration packets like those mentioned in the basket—such as Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier—offer a quick and effective way to replenish fluids and electrolytes beyond plain water. I found these indispensable for maintaining my milk supply and energy levels. Snacks are another essential component. Quick, easy-to-grab options like granola bites or wafer bars—organic and natural ones are a plus—help satisfy hunger pangs that can hit unexpectedly when you’re busy caring for a newborn. I appreciated having a stash of nutritious snacks close by, which kept me fueled without wasting precious time preparing food. The value of cozy items can’t be overstated. Maternity leave often means spending extended periods at home, so comfortable pajamas, warm slippers, and a soft blanket make a huge difference in a mom’s day. These items offer comfort and a small sense of luxury amidst the fatigue. Lastly, postpartum skincare is a wonderful way to boost a new mom’s morale. Sleep deprivation and hormonal changes can dry out the skin, so products like sheet masks, under-eye patches, chapsticks, and nourishing lotions are great additions. I personally found that even a few minutes spent pampering myself helped me feel a little more like myself. One tip I’d add is to tailor the basket to the mom’s personal preferences—whether that’s her favorite flavors for snacks or any specific skin sensitivities. This small gesture shows thoughtfulness and care. Also, including a handwritten note or encouragement can brighten her day immensely. Overall, assembling a basket centered around hydration, nourishment, comfort, and self-care is a beautiful way to express support and help a new mom navigate her postpartum journey with a little more ease and joy.
