TV series/Movies 🍿🎦

I’m sure we all have that one tv series or movie that you could watch a million times and not get over it. I have a couple of my favorite movies and series I’d love to share ☺️

🍿The photograph, love this movie so much. Issa Rea is such an amazing actress and how handsome is Lakeith Stansfield!😍 Jazz music played all throughout the movie making me fall in love. This movie was so calm and beautiful.

🍿The Notebook, first of all I’ll be honest I cried my eyes out, secondly this movie is a must watch. The story telling is amazing and very consistent and takes the viewers on a whole back and forth journey throughout the movie without going astray. I’m such a romantic and not to exaggerate this movie shows true love.

🍿 Entergalactic, the storytelling, the music, the illustrations, the voice actors and actresses, the black love! 10/10. I enjoyed this movie so much I have watched it many times and it was better than the last times. I only listened to the album after watching it and it was amazing!!

🍿Someone great, the real reason why I love this movie so much is because back in 2021 I could really relate to the characters Jenny and Nate’s relationship to my actual relationship at the time. Watched this movie a few weeks before my boyfriend at the time broke up with me and for some reason after the break up, it gave me so much comfort. I loved how Jenny got right back up for herself and had her best friends around her.

🍿Euphoria, “RUE? WHEN WAS THIS?” Rent free in my mind and also because of TikTok lol! Such a good show! Very relatable in today’s society too. And the acting from the cast wow 10/10! It’s a whole roller coaster emotions. Really can’t wait for a new season.

🍿Insecure, lol I was 16 when I first started watching this series. omg what did I really know about being a 30 year old woman trying to juggle a career, love, friendships, life decisions and choices on a daily basis?? Completely nothing lol! But I watched it anyway and could watch it a million times more because as time went on I could understand more about all these things and knowing as I grow older I will eventually have to deal with them. It’s a total good watch.

🍿Clueless, I love a good teen rom com movie, it’s funny, warm and kinda cheesy. And the outfits were so cute.

🍿 Pride & Prejudice, AGAIN! I love me a romantic movie. This movie was amazing and I’m told the book by Jane Austen is just as good! Amazing! If a real life Mr Darcy talked to me the way he passionately expressed his feelings to Elizabeth?? I would gladly be with child for him hahaha don’t get me started on the amazing raw emotions of love and dramatic scenes in the rain!wow! Must watch

🍿Blood and Water, plot twist after plot twist! I love a good dramatic plot twist. Im so looking forward to a new season it will be super interesting to see how the show will go.

🍿Me before you, each time I watch this movie, I always have a good cry. I’ve watched it a thousand times and I’m pretty sure I know some scenes word for word now lol. I highly recommend it if you haven’t watched it. The storyline is completely perfect in every way, touching and heartbreaking all together. Emilia Clarke, game of thrones start, was unrecognizable as Louisa Clark bright spirited and cheerful girl. And Sam Claflins acting as Will Traynor was everything, he rea pulled it off. Totally worth the watch!

I highly recommend putting at least one or two series or movies on your watch list☺️☺️

... Read moreOkay, so you've seen my initial list, but I wanted to dive a little deeper into two movies that consistently pop up in my mind, especially when I think about films that truly capture the complexities of love and life: The Photograph and Someone Great. Let's talk about The Photograph first. If you're anything like me, you appreciate a romance that feels real, layered, and utterly beautiful. This movie, starring the incredible Issa Rae and the ever-charismatic Lakeith Stanfield, is an absolute gem. While my initial thoughts touched on the jazz music and the serene vibe, there's so much more to unpack. The story revolves around Mae (Issa Rae), a curator, who delves into her late mother's past after finding a photograph. This journey intertwines with her blossoming relationship with Michael (Lakeith Stanfield), a journalist covering her mother's work. What I adore is how it explores intergenerational love stories and the echoes of the past in our present relationships. The chemistry between Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield is just palpable – it’s not just about grand gestures but those quiet, intense moments, the lingering glances, and deeply meaningful conversations that make you truly believe in their connection. For those searching for "romantic scenes" or "film stills" of Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield, you'll find so many moments that are visually stunning and emotionally resonant. Think about the scenes where they're just getting to know each other, the vulnerability and excitement in their eyes. It’s a masterclass in modern romance, proving that love stories can be both soulful and visually captivating. The cinematography itself feels like a warm embrace, making every frame, every still, worthy of being a "movie poster." Then there's Someone Great. Oh, this movie hits differently, especially if you've ever navigated the choppy waters of a breakup. My original piece mentioned how relatable Jenny and Nate's relationship was to my own, providing comfort post-split. But beyond my personal connection, this film is a powerful ode to female friendship and self-discovery. It's not just about Jenny getting over a breakup; it's about her realizing her worth and redefining her future with the unwavering support of her best friends, Erin and Blair (played brilliantly by Brittany Snow and DeWanda Wise). The film takes you on an emotional whirlwind through New York City as the trio tries to make the most of one last night together before Jenny moves away. It's raw, it's funny, it's heartbreaking, and ultimately, it's incredibly uplifting. If you're looking for a film that truly understands the messy, beautiful process of healing and the invaluable bond of sisterhood, this is it. It shows that even in moments of profound sadness, joy and strength can be found in unexpected places and, most importantly, within yourself and your chosen family. It’s a perfect watch when you need a reminder that sometimes, the greatest love story is the one you build with your friends and yourself. Both of these films, while different in their approach, offer such rich and satisfying viewing experiences. They're not just movies; they're emotional journeys that stay with you long after the credits roll. I genuinely hope you give them a watch!
