I’ve had so many rides where drivers asked for my number or Instagram, and I knew exactly what they were trying to do. It’s uncomfortable, it’s creepy, and the worst part? They know where I live. That feeling of being polite because you’re scared? Yeah, I’ve lived it.
Although this new policy won't solve everything, it’s a step in the right direction. One that makes me feel like maybe someone’s actually listening.😭

They ask for your number, that’s creepy! I was under the impression that the drivers can just get it off the app. I’ve had drivers call me to find out where I’m at or to let me know they’re there. Is it a feature that is just and auto dial but the phone numbers are hidden. This is a great thing. You mentioned Detroit though, happen to know if this is just a pilot program to see how it works or is this going to be a change all over. I’ve been in some creepy situations myself and my husband does not like me to uber because of it.
