rating the by/rosiejane discovery set

I love when a fragrance house has a discovery set! It’s such a great way to introduce yourself to a house you haven’t tried before, be able to wear-test fragrances, and a chance to learn what notes you do/don’t enjoy when starting to explore fragrance.

Overall value:

Overall, I think the value of the DISCOVERY SET + E-GIFT CARD bundle is a 9.5/10. The discovery set is $25 on its own, and each of their full sized fragrances are $80 (which is amazing for a 50ml bottle), so in the bundle you’re essentially receiving the discovery set for free (girl math). The packaging is clean, simple, and cute. I love that the samples in the discovery set have sprayers! I do wish they were 2ml samples (like most other discovery sets) rather than 1.5ml. I love that they include all of their fragrances, so you get to experience every fragrance and find your favorite (or favorites)!

Fragrance ratings:

To preface, I don’t typically enjoy vanilla fragrances, gourmands, or super sweet fragrances.

Rosie 9/10: light and pretty, one that I will absolutely reach for as an everyday scent, easy to wear

Dulce 5/10: for a vanilla it’s pretty, it smells like really good baking vanilla, but I don’t like vanilla fragrances so it’s a no for me - if you love vanilla fragrances I’d definitely give it a try

Missy 5/10: it’s a nice summer scent, when I smelled it on the test strip I liked it more, after wear testing it I’m getting more of a synthetic/sunscreen vibe so it’s not something I’d reach for

James 6/10: fresh, very green - photorealistic green fig, gives the vibe of underripe green fig, not a fragrance I see myself reaching for, but I’d recommend trying if you love a green fragrance

Leila Lou 8/10: so pretty, I love the pear in this, would be amazing in the springtime, very nostalgic to me - it smells like a perfume my Mom wore when I was a kid

Dylan 6/10: unique balance of clean and smoky, I picture an immaculately cleaned and restored vintage car with leather seats that hold the lingering scent of cigarette smoke, not something I really see myself wearing

Lake 6/10: a unique citrus, but not one I’d reach for since it’s sweet and vanilla forward, it does remind me of a dessert that I had as a kid though

Remi 10/10: my favorite of the set, bright yet grounded, will be a gorgeous transitional fall fragrance, crisp, bright, grounded, cosy, love the balance of citrus, cardamom, and amber
