Simon Riley Drawin

Hey fellow CoD enthusiasts! I'm so excited to share a piece I've been working on – my pencil drawing of the legendary Simon 'Ghost' Riley from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It's always a challenge to capture such an iconic character, and I really tried my best to do him justice! For those who might be new to the Call of Duty universe, Simon 'Ghost' Riley is one of the most mysterious and beloved characters. A British special forces operator, he's known for his stoic demeanor and, of course, that unforgettable skull mask. He plays a pivotal role in the Modern Warfare series, especially in Modern Warfare II and III, making him a fan favorite. When I decided to do this sketch, I knew the most important part was getting his signature look right. The skull mask, his tactical helmet, and the detailed military gear are what make him instantly recognizable to any Call of Duty fan. I spent a lot of time focusing on these details, even trying to get the 'SAS' insignia visible on his chest, just like in the game. It was a really fun challenge trying to translate that complex character design into a pencil drawing. I even used a lot of references from Google to make sure I captured all the nuances just right – it was definitely a deep dive into fan art! Beyond the intimidating facade, Ghost's enigmatic personality is what truly draws fans in. He's a man of few words, often shrouded in mystery, which only adds to his allure. His loyalty, combat prowess, and the silent strength he brings to Task Force 141 make him an indispensable part of the team. There's so much rich lore surrounding his background and experiences, especially in Modern Warfare II, and I think that depth just adds to his appeal as a character. It's wild how much detail fans dig into about Ghost – from discussions about his height and even his rumored birthday, to amazing fan edits people create. There's a whole community dedicated to this character, and I love seeing everyone's interpretations and theories.
