🇻🇳 Guide to Ba Na Hills (+ tips!!)

1️⃣ Avoid peak hours!!

- the queue for rides (esp the alpine coaster) during peak hours is insanely long!! Recommended to come before 10am or after 6pm to skip the lines. We went on the alpine coaster at 8am and 6pm and waited less than 3 mins each time!

2️⃣ Stay the night!!

- there is only one hotel on Ba Na Hills, Mercure. The price per night isn’t that expensive (we paid $130+ for one night, inclusive of breakfast). This stay can be booked via Klook. We recommend staying over for these reasons:

* the park is too huge to explore in a single day

* skip the crowd (enjoy the rides/alpine coaster with zero queue before the cable car crowds arrive). We also went to the Golden Bridge at night and it was super empty!!

* park is super pretty at night!!! Rlly fun to explore the park at night when it is lit up so prettily and there is 0 crowd

Tips: the hotel check-in is done before the cable car ride, and the hotel has a dedicated cable car station. If you’re grabbing there, input this address: “Mercure French Village Station”

3️⃣ Cable Car Tickets

- the cable car ticket includes all indoor/outdoor theme park rides (alpine coasters are charged separately). You can get the tickets via klook!

- if you’re staying at Mercure, don’t get tickets online!! Buy them at the hotel check-in counter as there is a 30% discount for hotel guests!!

4️⃣ Dining options

- most restaurants at Ba Na Hills close at 4pm!! There are still a few open at night, but options are very limited. We had Chinese food (Kungfu Noodle Restaurant) for dinner, food wasn’t bad.

5️⃣ Indoor theme park (aka Fantasy Park)

- majority of the indoor rides are rlly rlly lame, the only ones we think are worth taking are bumper cars, 5d theatre (this one was rlly fun) and drop & twist tower.

- arcade games at the basement are FREE!! We actually enjoyed the arcade games over majority of the indoor theme park rides haha

6️⃣ Alpine coaster

- there are 3 stations for the alpine coaster, each with a different entrance! Each coaster has a different route. We went on all of them and it was really fun!! Do explore all 3 if u have the time!!

Read moreBesides the great tips on avoiding crowds and enjoying the alpine coaster, one thing I found super helpful was planning your visit based on the cable car timetable, especially if you want to catch the magical nighttime views. The cable car operates late into the evening, which lets you experience the park lit up beautifully, and the Golden Bridge looks stunning after dark with way fewer tourists around. Eating options can be tricky since most restaurants close early – around 4pm – so if you plan to stay late or overnight, bring some snacks just in case or be ready to dine at limited spots like the Kungfu Noodle Restaurant, which was decent in my experience. Staying at the Mercure Hotel on site really makes a difference, not just for easy access but you also get a 30% discount on cable car tickets by purchasing them directly at check-in. For those curious about the alpine coaster, there are three different tracks, each accessible from different stations. Riding all three offers varied experiences and tons of fun. I highly recommend trying them all if your schedule allows. Note that alpine coaster rides aren’t included in the regular cable car ticket, so plan accordingly. Also, if you enjoy arcade games, the Fantasy Park’s basement arcade has free games that were honestly more fun than some indoor rides. Lastly, plan your timing carefully: arriving early before 10am or later after 6pm makes a massive difference in wait times, especially for popular attractions like the alpine coaster.
