Course: Provide Coffee Barista Service
Duration: 2 days
✨Why i signed up✨
I’m not planning to become a barista, just looking for interesting side quests to do since I’m currently unemployed!! I wanted to learn how to brew coffee on my own because despite being a huge coffee lover, the only coffee I knew how to make was 3 in 1 instant coffee LOL…paid $0 becos i used my skillsfuture!!
🙇🏻♀️The class🙇🏻♀️
The 2 day course was surprisingly fun and I learned a lot about coffee, from its history, different types of beans, harvesting and brewing methods!! Our class was supposed to have 8 pax but only half showed up lol, which was great because it felt a lot more personalized.
The trainer was very knowledgeable and chill, and could answer all our random questions about coffee!! IMO the most enjoyable part was when we got to brew espresso using the coffee machine. I would say about 40% of the class was practical, so be prepared to drink A LOT of coffee… I was literally shaking after like 6 cups bro 😭
We also learned latte art and it was SO difficult… I now have a newfound respect for baristas because I couldn’t even draw a simple heart 🥀
📝Assessment📝
There’s an exam at the end, one practical and one written test, but it’s honestly quite hard to fail. The written test is open book so you really don’t need to use your brain much HAHA
💭Overall thoughts💭
The trainer mentioned that this course is recognised by sg's cafe, and other than me, all my classmates were taking it because they actually want to become baristas.
If you’re planning to attend, bring flasks so you can bring the coffee home!! I felt damn sad pouring away the coffee I made because I physically couldn’t drink anymore 😭
Overall a vry enjoyable experience, 10/10 will recommend!
