Is perfection the measure I Spoken Blog
Is perfection the measure of everything we do?
Is it the standard by which success should be judged?
Many people hesitate to BEGIN because they believe everything must be perfect before they try.
But growth does not begin with perfection it begins with courage.
So instead of asking if everything is perfect, ask yourself something greater:
Are you learning?
Are you growing?
Are you becoming better than you were yesterday?
Because perfection is not always the measure.
PROGRESS IS.
From my own experiences, I've often found that the pursuit of perfection can be more paralyzing than motivating. There were many times when fear of not achieving an ideal stopped me from even starting a project or sharing my work. However, shifting my mindset to value progress over perfection has been transformative. When I started focusing on learning and growth, instead of a flawless outcome, I noticed several benefits. First, it allowed me to take risks and try new things without the burden of needing to be perfect. This courage to begin, regardless of imperfections, nurtured creativity and innovation. Moreover, by celebrating small improvements and daily progress, I felt more motivated and less stressed. Progress is tangible and encouraging, while perfection feels like a moving target that can cause unnecessary hesitation. In practical terms, this means setting realistic goals and asking yourself: Am I better today than yesterday? Am I learning something new? Are my efforts moving me forward, even if imperfectly? These questions focus on personal development and resilience. Remember, perfection is often an illusion; it can discourage action and growth. Instead, progress measures real achievements and fosters continuous improvement. When we embrace progress as the true measure, we open ourselves to a journey filled with learning, growth, and meaningful success beyond any flawless standard.
