Weekend Comic: Social time?
Weekend Comic: Social time? “Lost Connection” by #suno
Made in #procreate and #capcut
#NotesforTracy is an all ages comicstrip, inspired from people and happenings in my life. The Critters deal with anxiety, small town superheroes, gym rats, preschool capers, and SO many dad jokes! This comic strip started as doodles on sticky pad notes, and the audience includes family, friends, and now a growing #CritterTribe !
Critter gear is available on https://www.redbubble.com/people/joeiconic/explore. All proceeds go into making coloring pages & providing critter stickers for children at my favorite local crisis nonprofit! You can also donate via https://ko-fi.com/joeiconic . Get a sticker & send us your Critter Sightings! So far, we have Critter Sightings in London, Amsterdam, Brazil, Portugal, Italy, Alaska, Zurich, Swiss Alps, and hopefully soon where you are!
There’s something so comforting about discovering a comic strip that just gets you. You know, the kind that feels like it’s plucked moments right out of your own life, making you laugh, nod in understanding, or even feel a little seen. For me, ‘NotesforTracy’ has quickly become one of those gems. It reminds me a lot of the classic newspaper comics I grew up with, which always managed to capture the universal quirks of family and everyday existence, bringing a smile to my face on a quiet weekend morning. What makes ‘NotesforTracy’ stand out is its genuine heart. It’s an all-ages strip, so it’s something the whole family can enjoy, but it doesn't shy away from themes that resonate deeply with adults too. From navigating those awkward social interactions and dealing with a touch of anxiety, to the hilarious chaos of preschool capers and an endless supply of dad jokes, it’s all there. I particularly connect with how it portrays those moments of ‘lost connection’ – not just in a digital sense, but those little internal disconnects we sometimes have even when we’re right there with someone we care about. Like in the comic, where one character sincerely says, 'I appreciate our time together,' while the other might be momentarily lost in thought. It’s such a real, human experience. The artistry is also something I truly admire. Knowing that these started as simple doodles on sticky notes and evolved into something so polished, created with tools like Procreate and CapCut, really highlights the passion behind it. It’s inspiring to see how everyday observations can be transformed into engaging visual stories that speak volumes. These little critters manage to convey so much emotion and humor through simple expressions and situations. Beyond the laughs and relatable moments, there’s a wonderful community growing around ‘NotesforTracy,’ fondly known as the ‘Critter Tribe.’ It’s exciting to see how these characters are popping up in 'Critter Sightings' all over the globe – from London to Alaska! It’s a testament to how universal these themes are, and how art can truly bring people together, creating a shared sense of belonging and joy. What’s even more heartwarming is the mission behind it all. It’s not just about entertainment; it’s about giving back. Knowing that proceeds from Critter gear go towards making coloring pages and providing stickers for children at a local crisis nonprofit, and that donations are welcomed to support this noble cause, adds another layer of appreciation for this project. It’s beautiful to see how creativity can be channeled into making a tangible difference in the lives of others, especially children in need. If you’re looking for a fresh, wholesome, and genuinely relatable comic strip to brighten your day and connect with a fantastic community, I highly recommend diving into the world of ‘NotesforTracy.’ You might just find yourself saying, 'Me, too!' to many of its charming observations and whimsical adventures. It’s more than just a comic; it’s a little slice of life, beautifully illustrated and shared with heart.
