Being sensitive to both relaxation and stress

For most of my life, I have had issues with being sensitive to both relaxation and stress. I think that this stems from a accident that I had when I was two years old, where I fell off of a bunkbed. Throughout my entire life, I’ve never been able to sleep very well, I’ve always suffered with having really bad headaches, and there’s always been this overwhelming feeling of dread which has led to a lot of nausea. It’s always been so funny to hear people that I’ve known throughout the years. Say how much they hate being nauseous and I’m just so used to it that I hardly even think about it anymore.

It can be very isolating and very overwhelming dealing with nervous system dysregulation. I am currently working with a somatic therapist to teach my body safety. It’s a very slow process and I do hope that at some point I will start to be able to go to sleep again. I’m still having issues getting good restful sleep. I’m lucky if I can sleep for five hours.

There’s still much that I need to do as far as healing and figuring out how to manage my symptoms. I do feel like I’m on the right path though. I have tried many different modalities and many of them have left me even more dysregulated. I just didn’t know what I needed, and I admittedly came to everybody with much desperation because I was so confused and overwhelmed with what was going on with my body, and I was hoping that anybody could help me.

I’m learning now that a lot of what I really need to do is just to let my body be and to have it figure out its own way without me interfering or forcing you to do something that it’s just not wanting to do. It’s taking me a long time to get here, but I am finally noticing improvement.
