minecraft's WORST ideas thread 🧵
As a dedicated Minecraft player, I've seen my fair share of wild ideas floating around the community, but nothing quite prepared me for the sheer genius (and utter madness) of this 'worst ideas' thread! It's truly eye-opening to see what kind of chaotic additions players can dream up, and honestly, some of them would make for the most frustrating builds imaginable – which ironically, makes them hilariously brilliant. Let's talk about the villagers, for instance. We already have a love-hate relationship with them, right? But imagine a world where you'd face 'villager taxes and Minecraft tax evasion' – suddenly, your peaceful trading post turns into a legal nightmare! And the idea of 'ability to file lawsuits on villagers' or worse, 'villagers can file lawsuits on You'? My mind immediately goes to a scenario where a rogue emerald transaction leads to endless court battles in the village square. Mojang definitely made the right call keeping things simpler, but these concepts highlight how challenging game design can be when balancing player freedom with logical consequences. Then there are the environmental threats that would turn Minecraft into a survival horror game. 'Landslides in mountain biomes' would certainly add a thrilling (and probably infuriating) layer of realism to exploration. Picture building your dream mountain base only for it to be swept away by a sudden rockslide! And let's not forget the smaller, yet equally annoying, details like 'flies' buzzing around, or the utterly random 'allergies' that you only discover when you mysteriously die. It’s a funny thought, but in practice, these would probably just make us rage-quit faster than a creeper explosion. Speaking of creepers, the notion of 'creepers that can pick up TNT and have double explosion power' and 'creepers that spawn with the TNT double explosion power' sends shivers down my spine. My meticulously crafted structures would stand no chance! And what about the mobs? Giving 'zombies an inventory so they can pick up multiple items and not just armor and shit' would be a game-changer... for the worse! Imagine your precious diamond pickaxe being snatched by a hungry zombie. And for player mechanics, 'trap beds' – like trap chests, but beds – would introduce a whole new level of paranoia to multiplayer servers. The idea of 'being able to throw your arrows like darts except you can't control how far they go or how hard they hit' just sounds like a recipe for constant frustration and missed shots. While these ideas are undeniably 'bad' in terms of enjoyable gameplay, they also reveal the incredible creativity within the Minecraft community. It's fascinating to see how players push the boundaries of what's possible, even if it's just in a humorous thought experiment. It’s a reminder that even the most bizarre game ideas spark discussion and contribute to the vibrant, ever-evolving world of Minecraft. What other hilariously bad concepts have you encountered?
