Musicians GOTTA Do This 👀😳
As someone who loves music and songwriting, I’ve noticed a trend where many songs focus heavily on personal heartbreaks and real-life breakups. While these can be deeply emotional and relatable, I think musicians have a huge opportunity to shake things up by inventing completely fictional stories instead. Writing songs about made-up characters or crazy, outlandish situations can add a fresh and unexpected dimension to music. For example, I saw a post suggesting how some artists create original characters and write songs from their unique perspectives—like wild narratives involving conflicts, bizarre events, or even darkly humorous tales about fictional scenarios. This approach moves beyond typical venting and invites listeners into an imaginative world that merges storytelling with music. It keeps the audience intrigued and eager to hear what happens next. In addition, incorporating creative storytelling helps artists build a distinct style and stand out in an oversaturated market filled with similar themes. Whether it’s writing from the viewpoint of a made-up persona or constructing a mini saga within a song, this method offers endless possibilities. Plus, it can be really fun for the artist, as they’re not limited by their own experiences and can experiment with wild ideas, emotions, and even genre blending. Personally, when I try writing songs, switching from purely autobiographical lyrics to fictional storytelling has expanded my creative range considerably. It’s also rewarding to engage listeners with narratives that surprise them or offer new perspectives. In short, musicians who embrace creating original characters and outlandish plots in their songs are likely to craft more memorable, impactful music that resonates differently with audiences.
