📝 [Habit Tracker]

——————————————————————————

1🍋 First, make a new Calendar Database. Type “/calendar” and click the calendar view database.

(Make sure to click New Database)

2🍋 Next, click “New Template” in the calendar

(Templates is essentially a page that can be customized and whenever you create a new page in a database, that template will automatically be able to load a copy)

3🍋 Add new property to this template. It will be a text property. Then you can name this text property to the habit you’re trying to complete

(Add more text properties for each habits

4🍋 Next, add a checkbox property for when all habits for the time period get completed

(Get out of the template)

(Also make sure all the properties are enabled to be visible in the calendar view)

5🍋 Click on the blue “Template” button again and click on “Repeat.” Next, choose any time period where you want a new set of habits to be added (I like to click daily to do daily habits)

Now you are done with a quick simple “Habit Tracker!”

🥅 [Goal Manager]

——————————————————————————

1🍋 First, type “/table view” and click at the table database

(Click new database)

2🍋 Rename the new table that just got created to the goal that you want to accomplish

3🍋 Next add a checkbox property to the table. This will what you will click to complete each “Task” that you make

4🍋 Next, click “Calculate” and then “Percent Checked.” This will show the percentage of checkboxes checked or progress towards completing the full goal.

And now you’re done! Any other add-ons I would do would be to add a difficulty and potentially date property for the tasks. But this is a simple but effective Goal Manager that you can easily make! ✨

... Read moreEver felt like you’re doing a lot, but not really seeing any progress? I used to feel that exact way. The idea of 'progress in Notion' might sound intimidating with its learning curve, but once you set up a system that works, it's a game-changer for staying motivated and achieving your wildest dreams. I’ve found that simply building a Habit Tracker and a Goal Manager in Notion isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about creating a visual roadmap of your journey and celebrating every small win. Let’s dive a bit deeper into making these tools work for your actual progress. For your Habit Tracker, like the one I use for daily tasks such as 'Meditate' or 'Walk The Dog,' consistency is key. Beyond just adding a 'Checkbox' property, I recommend adding a 'Notes' property to each daily entry. This is where you can quickly jot down how you felt, any challenges, or small triumphs related to that habit. For example, after 'Meditate,' I might write, "Felt calm and focused today," or "Struggled to quiet my mind, need to try a different technique tomorrow." This turns a simple checkbox into a powerful reflection tool, helping you understand your patterns and make adjustments for better progress. Seeing those 'Completed Habits?' checkboxes fill up daily truly fuels my motivation! Now, for the Goal Manager. Setting a big goal, like 'Run A Marathon,' can feel overwhelming. That’s where Notion's table database shines. Instead of just listing the main goal, break it down into smaller, actionable tasks. For example, under 'Run A Marathon,' I'd list tasks like: "Research training plans," "Buy new running shoes," "Run 3 miles (week 1)," "Run 5 miles (week 2)," and so on. Add a 'Date' property for each task to keep yourself accountable. The real magic happens when you configure the 'Calculate' option to 'Percent Checked.' Watching that percentage climb from 0% to 10%, then 25%, and eventually 100% is incredibly satisfying and provides tangible proof of your progress. It transforms an abstract goal into a series of achievable steps, making the journey feel much less daunting. To truly integrate these for overall life progress, try linking your habits to your goals. Perhaps 'Meditate' helps with the mental discipline needed for marathon training, or 'Walk The Dog' is part of your daily mileage build-up. While Notion has advanced relational databases, even a simple mental connection or a note in your habit tracker entry can reinforce how your daily actions contribute to your larger aspirations. What I've learned is that the more I engage with these Notion setups, the more I actually see and feel my progress, making it much easier to stay consistent and push towards my goals. It's not just a tool; it's a partner in my personal growth journey. If you need more inspiration, remember my templates are always available – link in bio! They've helped me immensely, and I hope they can do the same for you.

Thanks for this, but I tried use Notion once. Had a bad experience with it. I felt I spent most of my time trying to set up my goals in Notion rather than actually doing my goals. 😂
