As someone who loves both cosplay and my faith, I understand the questions or doubts that might come from mixing these worlds. For me, wearing the hijab is a personal and spiritual choice that doesn’t limit my creativity or self-expression. When I cosplay characters like Nezuko from Demon Slayer, I adapt hijab styles that remain true to my beliefs while also fitting the costume’s aesthetic. This has sometimes led to misunderstandings, especially among those who expect a very traditional look from hijabis. I’ve learned that the hijab is not about following a single fashion rule but about expressing modesty and devotion in a way that feels authentic to each individual. My approach to cosplay hijab styles is a reflection of this belief. Despite English not being my first language, I want to make it clear that cosplay and being hijabi are not mutually exclusive. The creativity in designing unconventional hijab styles for cosplay has deepened my connection to my faith and culture.
