Oh my goodness, who else remembers the absolute joy that was the Beverly Hills Chihuahua movie from 2008? Seeing Papi and Chloe on screen always brought such a huge smile to my face, and the nostalgia is real! Lately, I’ve been diving deep into digital art, and I just couldn't resist the urge to bring these furry friends to life in a whole new way. My latest project, which you can see in my post, was all about humanizing Chloe and Papi. I mean, think about it – a pampered Beverly Hills diva and a charming, street-smart romantic? The character possibilities are endless! I spent hours sketching and refining, trying to capture their essence. For Chloe, I envisioned someone elegant and a bit sassy, always perfectly put-together, perhaps the type to confidently assert, “Give me” the best of everything! She has that undeniable star quality, doesn't she? And Papi! He’s just pure heart and humor. I pictured him as this incredibly charismatic, slightly mischievous guy, completely smitten with Chloe. He’d be the type to serenade her, always ready with a witty remark or a loving compliment. You can almost hear him, can't you, perhaps admiring her playful side with a cheeky, “Look at my booty!” in a completely endearing way, just like in the movie he’s always so captivated by her. It was so much fun translating their doggy antics and expressions into human traits using my Procreate app. It’s been such a journey revisiting the 2008 film and its characters through this artistic lens. Every stroke felt like a little tribute to the laughter and warmth they brought.
