Their beautiful, silky coats require daily brushing to prevent tangles and mats, and regular grooming appointments are a must to keep them looking their best. Dental hygiene is also super important for small breeds, so I try to brush their tiny teeth regularly and provide dental chews. When it comes to feeding, portion control is key, as their small stomachs can be sensitive, and they can easily become overweight. I always opt for high-quality small-breed kibble and healthy, tiny treats to keep them happy and healthy. Training can be an adventure! While incredibly bright, toy Yorkies can sometimes be a bit stubborn, so consistency and positive reinforcement are your very best friends. House-training, in particular, can take a little longer than with larger breeds, so patience and a regular schedule for potty breaks are essential.
