... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you have been curious about my life beyond the canvas, and especially about my furry co-worker, Boots. I wanted to dive a little deeper and share more about what makes me, Nova Wysteria (or some of you know my art persona, Oz_the_freak!), tick. It's truly a joy to connect with you all, and I feel like this is the perfect space to share a bit more of my story.
As an artist, my journey has been quite the ride. My art, as you've likely seen, often features characters with wide, expressive eyes or strong emotions. I love bringing stories to life through digital illustration, whether it’s the whimsical 'SKPY' pigeon wearing a red cape or more introspective pieces like 'Me when I can't draw Any of the cool ideas in my head'. That particular piece really resonates with how I feel sometimes – the ideas are so vivid in my head, but getting them perfectly onto the canvas can be a real challenge! It’s all a part of my creative process, and I believe in sharing not just the finished art, but the real me, with all my quirks and passions. I find inspiration everywhere, even in funny little phrases like 'Mrs. WENDIE3?! MALICK OF COURSE Ma'am' that just spark an idea for a character or a scene. Beyond art, I'm just your average person who loves finding new hobbies and exploring my identity through creativity.
Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show: my beloved cat, Boots! Some of you know her by her full, regal name, Precious, but 'Boots' just suits her playful, mischievous personality so well. She’s a beautiful tabby and white cat, full of cuddles and endless antics. She's turning 9 this year, but she still acts like a kitten, always curious and ready for an adventure. I remember this one time, she actually got her head stuck in a Pringles can! It was hilarious (after I made sure she was okay, of course!). You should have seen her trying to figure out how to get it off. She's such a character, always finding new ways to make me laugh, whether it's her quirky sleeping positions, her persistent demands for treats, or just her quiet presence beside me while I'm drawing. She's truly my furry best friend and a constant source of comfort and inspiration, especially during those moments when creative block hits hard. She's always there, usually napping on my arm or purring loudly, reminding me to take a break and just enjoy the simple things.
It's truly wonderful to connect with all of you through my art and my life. Thanks for letting me share these little glimpses into what makes Nova Wysteria, and my sweet Boots, who we are. Keep an eye out for more art and more Boots adventures!
