Getting my Art on 🖖

4/28 Edited to

... Read moreAs someone who’s recently delved into the world of acrylic painting, I’ve found it to be an incredibly rewarding and versatile medium. Acrylic paint dries quickly, which means you can layer colors rapidly without waiting for long drying times, allowing for more spontaneous creativity. Using acrylics also means you have plenty of options when it comes to texture—brush strokes can be thick and expressive or smooth and blended, depending on how you manipulate the paint. One thing I’ve learned is to experiment with different brush types and even unconventional tools like palette knives to create unique effects. Since the article mentions ’Lemons’ and acrylic paint, I was reminded of a still life painting I did featuring citrus fruits. Capturing the vibrant yellows and subtle shading was a great exercise in color mixing and light reflection. For those starting out, I recommend setting up a simple subject like fruits or flowers to practice observing colors and shapes. It’s also helpful to protect your workspace and avatar your brushes properly for longevity. Clean your brushes promptly after use to prevent acrylic paint from drying and ruining the bristles. Overall, getting your art on with acrylics is about embracing experimentation and allowing your personal style to emerge. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes; each can be painted over or incorporated into the piece. Every painting session is an opportunity to learn and grow.

getting back into my art
Between being mommy to my 28 month old and trying to keep up with TikTok shop, my art has fallen to the wayside. I’m starting to feel that “burn out” feeling but, fortunately, I remembered how doing art refills my cup. I’m using this to hold me accountable. I want to continue making time for myself

Though in all seriousness, I can’t understand it. Never ceases to fascinate me how easily flustered and righteous people get. Did anyone ask? :/ I have a few thoughts on how the internet and social media went downhill in general, but most of it was the rise of cringe culture and cancel cultu
