In Buddhism, the dragon (Nāga) is a powerful mythical being associated with water, protection, and the natural world. In Buddhist scriptures and traditions, Nāgas are sometimes portrayed as beings who encounter the Buddha, pay respect to the Dhamma, and protect sacred places and Buddhist teachings. The dragon (Nāga) therefore represents not only strength and power, but also protection, devotion, and the transformation of great power through wisdom and compassion. From a Buddhist perspective, true power is not the ability to dominate others, but the ability to master oneself and use one’s strength for the benefit of others.

ในพระพุทธศาสนา พญานาคเป็นสัตว์ในคติความเชื่อที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับสายน้ำ การคุ้มครอง และพลังแห่งธรรมชาติ ในพระพุทธศาสนาและวรรณกรรมทางพุทธศาสนา พญานาคปรากฏในเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับพระพุทธเจ้า การแสดงความเคารพต่อพระธรรม และการปกป้องสถานที่หรือสิ่งอันเป็นที่เคารพทางพระพุทธศาสนา พญานาคจึงมิได้เป็นเพียงสัญลักษณ์แห่งพลังและอำนาจเท่านั้น แต่ยังสื่อถึงการปกป้อง ความศรัทธา และการนำพลังอันยิ่งใหญ่มากำกับด้วยปัญญาและเมตตา ในมุมมองทางพระพุทธศาสนา พลังที่แท้จริงมิใช่การเอาชนะผู้อื่น แต่คือการเอาชนะตนเองและใช้พลังที่มีเพื่อประโยชน์แก่ผู้อื่น
