After discovering bands like Horrorpops, my whole aesthetic changed, and I've been on a mission to perfect my psychobilly look ever since. It’s more than just clothes; it’s an attitude! So, what exactly are we talking about? At its core, psychobilly takes rockabilly's vintage charm and injects it with a dose of punk aggression and horror imagery. Think classic 50s silhouettes but with a darker, edgier twist. Gothabilly, on the other hand, leans even further into the dark romanticism of goth, blending it seamlessly with rockabilly elements. Both are about expressing individuality and embracing a love for the macabre and the cool. For us ladies, dresses and skirts are staples, often with a classic pin-up silhouette but in darker colors or with spooky patterns. I love a good black halter-neck dress, cinched at the waist, or a playful yellow polka-dot skirt paired with a black top for a rockabilly base. Don't be afraid to experiment with a fierce leopard print dress for that extra flair! Ruffled hems or off-the-shoulder styles add a touch of feminine goth appeal, perfect for a gothabilly aesthetic. Band tees are an absolute must-have! I've rocked a 'DELTA BOMBERS' t-shirt and 'METEORS' t-shirt – they instantly scream psychobilly. Smoky eyes with a touch of glitter can also work wonders for a gothabilly makeup vibe. Don't forget nail polish – black or deep red are my go-tos.
