When we talk about energy, we often overlook the environmental and health impacts of fossil fuels, which are far more pervasive and measurable. Nuclear power, when viewed through a scientific lens, consistently demonstrates an incredibly high level of safety due to stringent regulations and advanced engineering. Learning these facts, especially from a respected voice like Robert B. Hayes, has truly changed how I view energy discussions. It's a reminder that relying on expert data and a clear understanding of physics can help us overcome irrational fears and make more informed decisions about our energy future. It's not about ignoring risks, but understanding them in their proper context, free from the shadow of radiophobia.

nuclear is by far the safest of energy generation. there are horror stories from natural gas and coal power plants that exceed the number of deaths in some years than all of nuclear. and yes Chernobyl was a horrible accident but it's one of these sources that you can't be cheap.
