OSL radiation dosimetry system

When the dosimeter is exposed to radiation, electrons get trapped in excited states within the material. Later, when we want to measure the dose, we stimulate these trapped electrons with a specific wavelength of light (optically stimulated luminescence), causing them to release their stored energy as light. The intensity of this emitted light is directly proportional to the radiation dose absorbed. This process allows us to measure very small doses quite accurately. Before any measurement, a crucial step is performing a quality assurance test to ensure everything is working perfectly, just like the daily QC test we passed recently.
