Nurses the ❤️🥰 of Healthcare!!
What inspired you to become a Nurse!
Tell the truth!!
The Heart of Nursing ❤️
In a world where healthcare is driven by technology, rankings, and business models…
Let’s pause.
Have we protected the heart of nursing?
Nursing was never meant to be just metrics and productivity dashboards.
It is the Art. The Science. And the Soul.
My journey started at 10 years old — as a hospital volunteer — after watching a 5th grade classmate battle leukemia.
That moment awakened something in me:
Compassion.
Curiosity.
Calling.
Somewhere along the way, burnout became normalized.
But burnout was never the assignment.
So how do we reset?
✨ Protect nurses — not just performance metrics
✨ Design cultures rooted in care
✨ Lead with purpose
✨ Let innovation support compassion — not replace it
When the heart of nursing is preserved…
Patients feel it. Families feel it. Nurses remember why they said yes.
How did your journey start? 👇🏾❤️

Reflecting on my own nursing journey, I’ve often found that the core of nursing lies far beyond clinical skills and productivity goals. It is truly about the heart — the compassion and connection nurses bring to their patients every day. Often, healthcare environments emphasize metrics and efficiency, yet the emotional and human side of nursing is what ultimately impacts patient outcomes and family experiences. At St. Elizabeth Medical Center, like in many hospitals, the demands can sometimes feel overwhelming, and burnout becomes an unwelcome companion. However, I've learned that preserving nursing's heart requires conscious effort to foster empathy-focused cultures, encourage open communication, and prioritize the well-being of nurses themselves. Small changes—like leaders who listen deeply and technologies designed to support rather than replace human care—can transform the environment. Volunteering early in life, witnessing a childhood classmate fight leukemia, deeply influenced my compassionate calling. Each nurse has a personal story that fuels their dedication. Sharing these stories uplifts the nurse community and reminds us why we chose this path. Innovation in nursing shouldn't be solely about automation or data dashboards, but about tools that free up time for meaningful patient interactions. When nurses are supported holistically, they provide more than clinical care—they offer healing presence, hope, and advocacy. It’s vital to reset healthcare by valuing nurses not only as caregivers but as the soul of the system, whose passion, curiosity, and dedication revive the spirit of nursing. This commitment ultimately reaches patients and families, fostering trust and healing beyond the hospital walls.
