ADN | My nontraditional nursing school journey 🩺
My nursing school journey is a bit non-traditional, I decided to get my ADN instead of going straight to a 4 year 🩺
1️⃣ It was an easy transition since I did all of my nursing pre-requisites at my local community college. Its also very close to home
2️⃣ Tuition. The tuition for my nursing program is a little over $10K. which is the cheapest I’ve ever seen. I live in California and the tuition prices are insane! Nursing programs are well over 30K whether its public or private. I’m beyond grateful that FASFA covers my tuition so the cost is covered! The only expenses I have to pay for supplies and books.
3️⃣ Hospitals will pay for my bachelors! Getting my BSN will only take less than a year and many hospitals will fully pay for my BSN program. Im able to work as an RN while having my program paid for!
4️⃣ Ultimately choosing the community college route has saved me so much money. I knew that I didnt want to be in student debt. I will say that nursing programs are extremely competitive to get into. I was listed as an alternate twice before I got in. But I honestly wouldnt of have chosen a different path!
