📚 Pre-studying is one part of the study method I implemented that drastically helped improve my overall comprehension and retention.
I used to walk into lecture not even knowing what we were about to learn. It took a lot of effort to keep up because all of the information was new.
I like to think of prestudying as looking up the menu before you go out to eat. You aren’t learning everything you need to know, but you are at least becomign familiar enoguh with the topic so when you get to lecture everything doesn’t feel so foreign.
And prestudying DOESN’T have to take a lot of time- simplying skimming your syllabus, powerpoint, or other study materials on the topic for 20 minutes could really make a difference.
