- allowing Jesus to be my fuel -

After 2 plus days on this dry fast my intentions were to starve my flesh and open myself up to hear from God. Allowing Him to feed me with His word, and with His energy. Aside from feeling irritable the first night I have felt surprisingly energized and more clear headed than I have in a while due to my own understanding. Jesus is truly the living God and is with us all right now! I know it was only the Lord who got me through this fast with as much energy and high spirits as I did bc there’s no way I could have done it on my own!!!

🙌🏾God you are worthy to be praised!!!!

A dry fast, where neither food nor water is consumed, is particularly demanding and requires strong faith and resolve. Combining this physical discipline with a focus on Jesus as a source of strength can profoundly impact both mental clarity and emotional resilience. During the fast, feelings of irritability are common initially, but many find that as the fast progresses, their energy levels rise and their minds become clearer, attributing this to spiritual nourishment. The idea of "allowing Jesus to be my fuel" reflects opening oneself up to divine guidance and presence as a sustaining force beyond the physical deprivation. Breaking a prolonged dry fast, like after 50 hours, is a sacred moment that symbolizes renewal and trust. It often involves intentional prayers and thanksgiving to God for sustaining one's spirit and body through such a challenging experience. This period can also deepen one’s appreciation of scripture and the power of faith to overcome natural limitations. Engaging in dry fasting combined with spiritual practices is seen by many as a way to starve the flesh and nurture the soul. It emphasizes reliance on God's energy and helps to cultivate gratitude, discipline, and heightened spiritual awareness. Practicing this regularly or incorporating it thoughtfully into a faith journey can encourage continuous personal growth and an enriched relationship with God.
