Save this post for later! This recipe is very similar to the one in my Gut Healthy dessert book.
* 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries (or other approved fruit; avoid pineapple, kiwi, mango, ginger root, papaya, figs, guava)
* 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
* 1–2 tablespoons elderberry syrup
* 1/4 cup grass-fed gelatin
* 3 tablespoons raw honey or 3 dates
* Vitamin D drops (as directed per serving)
Put apple cider vinegar, elderberry syrup, dates if using, and strawberries in a high-speed blender. Blend on high until completely smooth.
Pour the mixture into a saucepan. Add honey and gelatin and whisk together. Turn heat to low and whisk occasionally for 5–10 minutes until fully blended and slightly thin.
Remove from heat and, if desired, stir in vitamin D drops according to serving size.
Pour mixture into silicone molds or a small dish. Place in the fridge for about 1 hour until firm.
Pop gummies out of the molds and enjoy! Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Making your own immunity gummies at home is a fun and effective way to support your family's health naturally. I have found that using fresh strawberries not only adds a pleasant sweetness but also provides antioxidants and vitamin C, both beneficial for immune function. It's important to choose fruits that complement the recipe, so I avoid pineapple, kiwi, mango, and some tropical fruits like papaya or guava as they may interfere with the gelatin setting process or cause sensitivities. Apple cider vinegar is a fantastic ingredient for gut health due to its natural probiotic properties and ability to support digestion. Elderberry syrup is widely praised for its antiviral compounds that can help reduce the severity and duration of colds and flu. By blending these with dates or raw honey, the gummies become a nutritious treat that even toddlers enjoy. Grass-fed gelatin is a key component because it provides collagen, which supports gut lining integrity and joint health. When heating the mixture, maintaining a low temperature and whisking constantly ensures the gelatin fully dissolves without clumping or overheating, which can degrade its benefits. I like adding vitamin D drops as recommended because vitamin D is crucial for immune modulation and often deficient in many people, especially in winter months. These gummies store well in the fridge up to a week, making it easy to have a ready supply on hand. From my experience, making immunity gummies is not only a tasty DIY project but also encourages mindful eating habits for children who might otherwise resist taking vitamins or supplements. Always check ingredient quality and opt for organic when possible to maximize health benefits. This recipe is a great addition to anyone's wellness routine aiming for natural immune support and improved gut health.
