Closed forest coordinates: When botanists come across a 'tree' that shouldn't exist
# Botanist notes # Mystery story # Lemon 8 Dark Line
Our name is "Navin," a botanist who has lived with dry leaf samples and labs all our lives, but our ultimate dream is to discover a new species of plant...And that's why we're standing in the heart of the "evergreen forest, the border strip," a closed forest that has never been allowed in more than 50 years.
My mission is to find the "night orchid," an ancient plant rumored to bloom only on the night of the month.
📍 Day 3: Deep beyond what the map says
The deeper they walk, the more unusual the trees around them are, their trunks so high that they obscure nearly 100% of the sunlight, the atmosphere is quiet...So quiet that I can't hear a bird or an insect, only our footsteps and elder Chan, the local hunter.
"You, Navin...Have you noticed that since this afternoon we haven't found any small animals? "Brother Chan whispered, tightening the orphan in his hand.
We looked down at the soil moisture meter, and it soared through the gauge, even though there was no water supply around here and then...A strange aroma floats and touches the nose. It's a sweet aroma like vanilla mixed with the smell of fermented liquor. It's so intense that it's dizzy.
🌸 Discovery...Or a trap?
We followed the scent until we found the center of the valley, and the sight in front of us almost stopped breathing. It was a giant tree with crooked roots like pythons intertwined. In the middle of the trunk was a large, dark purple, almost black flower. Its petals glowed faintly blue in the darkness.
"Night orchid!" we exclaimed with joy. Hurry and remove the backpack and immediately take out the notebook with the camera.
We moved closer to collecting pollen samples, but the closer we got, the more intense the aroma became, the brain became blurred, the front image began to shake, and suddenly we noticed something at the root...
It's not a dry leaf...But it's a military backpack, an old converse, and dozens of "human skeletons" tightened by bondage roots!
⚠️ The truth under the forest.
"Mr. Navin! Back off!" the voice of Brother Chan shouted, snatching our arms hard.
Our consciousness immediately opened up when we saw that the dark purple petals were moving, that they were gradually widening, and that blood-like droplets of red rubber seeped out of the pollen. The vanilla smell before this became a violent hammer-fishy smell.
This tree does not photosynthesize with sunlight...But it tempts creatures to inhale psychedelic volatiles to weaken, fall, and fertilize them to sustain life in this deep forest!
🏃♀️ escaped to death.
The two of us turned around and ran without thinking of life. The sound of the roots moving against the ground rang eerily behind us. We made cameras and notebooks disappear into the darkness, but there was no time to look back.
We ran out to the clear forest at dawn, collapsing, breathing in fear deep in the bones.
📝 Summary of Post Survival Records (Lemon8 Review)
What it knows: The world still has a lot of vegetation that humans shouldn't interfere with.
Warning for the wading line: If you enter the forest and find an overly beautiful tree and a strange fragrance...To run! Don't look back.
Current Status: We resumed our work in the lab and promised ourselves never to discover a new species for the rest of our lives... 😭
