All’Antico Vinaio

OMG, fellow foodies! I just had to share my excitement about the latest addition to NYC's sandwich scene: All'Antico Vinaio has officially opened its newest location at 7 West 25th Street! If you're anything like me, you've probably heard the buzz about their legendary Italian sandwiches, and let me tell you, the hype is REAL. What makes these sandwiches so special? Well, for starters, it's all about the bread. They use a unique bread similar to focaccia, which is perfectly soft yet sturdy enough to hold all the incredible fillings. And when I say fillings, I mean it – these sandwiches are absolutely massive! You're definitely getting your money's worth, and probably enough for two meals if you're not super hungry. I've been a fan since their other NYC spots, and I've liked everything I've tried so far, but this new spot feels extra special. Now, for the burning question: what to order at All'Antico Vinaio? If it’s your first time, I highly recommend 'La Favolosa.' It’s a classic for a reason, brimming with spicy Tuscan salami, Pecorino cream, artichoke cream, and a touch of spicy eggplant. It’s a flavor explosion that perfectly showcases their authentic Italian sandwich mastery. Another personal favorite is 'L'Inferno' – if you love a bit of heat, this one with porchetta, 'nduja (spicy spreadable pork sausage), and gorgonzola cream is a game-changer. The combination of rich pork, creamy cheese, and that fiery kick is just divine. For something a bit milder but equally delicious, 'La Schiacciata del Contadino' with prosciutto, stracchino cheese, and arugula is always a winner. It's simple, fresh, and highlights the quality of their ingredients. Finding a truly authentic Italian focaccia sandwich in NYC can sometimes be a quest, but All'Antico Vinaio consistently delivers. While this new 25th Street location is fantastic, don't forget they also have a presence elsewhere. If you're ever near the Times Square area or happen to catch them at a farmers market, keep an eye out! But seriously, this 25th Street spot is a prime location for grabbing a fantastic lunch or dinner. Be prepared for a line, especially during peak hours, but trust me, it moves quickly, and the wait is absolutely worth it for these incredible sandwiches.
