With Valentine’s Day, coming up, who doesn’t want to be relaxed and look their best ? Here’s one of my favorite recipes for a soothing, relaxing lavender facemask so that you too can look your best on Valentine’s Day or every day for that matter.

It’s quick, easy and works wonders for your skin

DIY Recipe: Homemade Honey + Lavender Face Mask

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Quantity: 2-3 masks

Ingredients:

2 tsp Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil

4 drops Lavender essential oil (1% dilution rate)

1 tsp Raw Honey

Directions:

Mix together coconut oil and lavender essential oil in glass jar

Add honey and mix all ingredients together with spoon or mask brush

Apply to clean skin and leave on for at least 20 minutes (You can even leave on overnight if you don’t mind getting any on your pillow!)

Wash off with warm water or washcloth.

It's a fantastic humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into your skin, keeping it super hydrated and plump. Plus, it has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which is why I find it so soothing – especially when my skin feels a bit stressed. It's truly a star ingredient for any homemade face mask application. Beyond my beloved lavender combo, I've dabbled in other honey face mask mixtures. One of my favorites for a brightening boost is a homemade yogurt honey face mask. I usually just mix a tablespoon of plain, unsweetened yogurt with a teaspoon of raw honey. The lactic acid in yogurt is a gentle exfoliant, helping to slough off dead skin cells and reveal a fresher complexion. My skin always feels incredibly soft and looks so much brighter after this one! Another popular option I've heard a lot about, and even tried myself with caution, is a honey cinnamon face mask mixture. Cinnamon is known for its stimulating properties, which can help bring blood flow to the surface of the skin, potentially giving a plumping effect. However, it can be a bit strong for sensitive skin, so I always recommend doing a tiny patch test first! If you do try it, just a tiny pinch of cinnamon mixed with honey is all you need. It’s definitely an invigorating experience! And it's not just for faces! Honey is equally fantastic for hair. If you're looking for a natural way to add moisture and shine, a honey and cinnamon hair mask mixture can be a game-changer. I love mixing about two tablespoons of honey with a tiny bit of coconut oil (or even just my regular conditioner) and a dash of cinnamon if I want to stimulate my scalp. You apply it to damp hair, focusing on the ends, and leave it on for about 20-30 minutes before shampooing as usual. My hair always feels so much softer and looks healthier afterward. It’s such a treat for dry or dull strands! When making any of these homemade masks, remember that fresh, high-quality ingredients make a difference. I've seen some amazing recipes that incorporate ingredients like Pascalite clay for deep cleansing, vitamin E capsules for extra nourishment, or even finely ground oatmeal for gentle exfoliation, especially for sensitive skin.
