Guanyin Hong Hom Temple (Hung Hom Kwun Im Temple)

This is the second temple that we pay homage to. The Hung Hom Kwun Yam Temple is another sacred place that should not be overlooked when visiting Hong Kong, especially for those born in the Year of the Pig. It has many important stories and stories.

1. The oldest and largest Guanyin Temple in Kowloon District

Built in 1873 and considered the largest Guanyin Temple in Kowloon District, it is more than 150 years old, reflecting beautiful and well-preserved ancient Chinese architecture.

Hong Kong was heavily bombed, especially the Hong Kong district that was a strategic target. There are records that the area around the temple was severely attacked. There were schools beside the temple that were bombed and many students were killed.

But the temple miraculously escaped destruction. The people who took refuge inside the temple were not harmed. The villagers believed that it was because "Guanyin protected" made the temple even more regarded as sacred and had a high protective power.

4, "Wai Guanyin, make a wish" and "borrow Guanyin money."

In addition to stories, the temple is known for two important rituals:

Kwun Yam Open Treasury: It is a ritual held on the birthday of Guanyin (April 26, month 1, in the Chinese calendar). People will come to "borrow money" from the goddess to become a glory, supplement their fortune, and then use it to make trade or business prosper.

· Siamsi Risk and Make a Wish: Here there are siamsi and offerings to choose from according to their needs. Whether asking for love, work, fortune, or study, it is believed to be fulfilled as requested.

Why does Sai Mu have to pay homage here? Although there is no direct evidence that this temple has a special element of "pig," there is an important reason why people are born in the year of the popular pig to pay homage:

1, Reinforce the horoscope with the "dragon" power of the zodiac year, the "pig" (gun) and the "dragon" (mantra) have a reinforcing relationship in Chinese astrology, believing that the dragon is the "highest auspicious animal" that supports the leader of the year of the pig to succeed, have power and prestige.

The Guanyin Honghum Temple is located on a site believed to be the "Dragon Vein," the strength of fortune. Sai Mu has come to worship in this place, so it is like being directly empowered by a dragon, strengthening the auspices and strengthening the destiny of life.

Guanyin at this temple is particularly famous for "giving fortune" through the "Guanyin loan" ritual, which is very suitable for people who want to keep their work advanced, financially stable, which is what Sai Mu often values.

With the history that the temple escaped destruction during the war, people believed that it was a place of great protection, suitable for worship, that life might pass through obstacles.
