How to Prep for an Office Day in Digital Marketing

A lot of my job as a Digital Marketing Associate in the activewear industry can be done remotely: scheduling content, writing blog posts, editing ads. But I still go into the office 2 days a week to get things done I can’t do from home.

Here’s how I prep for a productive in-office day that’s actually focused on marketing—not just meetings and catching up on emails:

📂 1. Review our content calendar + set 3 marketing priorities

I check what’s launching soon—whether it’s a fall campaign, influencer post, or paid ad—and build my day around that. It helps me stay focused on what’s revenue-driving and time-sensitive.

🎬 2. Prep creative deliverables

If I’m editing ads or reels, I’ll download UGC clips, organize B-roll, and make sure I have all the assets saved to Dropbox. I block off time in the office to edit without distractions.

📸 3. Sync with our team on upcoming shoots

Office days are best for quick, real-time convos. I’ll touch base with our creative team about casting, shot lists, or influencer product selections for our next lifestyle shoot.

📊 4. Catch up on influencer content + give feedback

I usually batch-review influencer posts in the office and send notes or approvals. It’s faster to collaborate when we’re face-to-face—especially for fall campaigns that require outdoor content.

🧠 5. Block time for strategy thinking

Whether it's mapping out Q4 themes, identifying content gaps, or refreshing blog topics, I protect 1–2 hours to zoom out and think about our overall brand voice and digital presence.

I’ve learned that office days are less about catching up—and more about moving projects forward through real-time collaboration. Plus, it helps me stay plugged into our team energy and brand priorities.
