Autism & teeth brushing

Please be kind 😊 I’m not new to this, I’m true to this. My baby has ARFID. For anyone who’s new here, that means his food intake is extremely limited and can result to chronic health issues. Yes, we’re aware of the gut–brain connection, and yes, milk isn’t ideal — but right now, his food pyramid is almost nonexistent.

He has two safe foods. Literally two. One is chicken skins, and the other is milk. Nothing else that’s filling. That’s it. He nibbles on beef bacon but majority of it ends up on the floor from spitting it out.

Because of past weight issues, he has to drink Pediasure to stay afloat and maintain his health.

Yes, I’ve tried homemade options. Yes, I’ve tried the “healthier” versions. That’s not what this video is about.

This video is about the real struggles of autism, specifically around teeth brushing, oral care, and finding ways to accommodate him without overstimulating his sensitivities and sensory needs — while still supporting his hygiene as he gets older.

That’s it. That’s the post! #autism #autismtips #mom #momlife #momcontentcreator
