Rating Tamper Cafe— Medford, MA 🌸

I’ve always been told by others I should start posting my matcha/cafe ratings so today is the day I start! Let me know what you think.

⭐️ Rating: 3.5/5

📝Description:

Minimalistic, cute cafe with brown/wood tones. Lots of seating and farm style tables! The kitchen is visible and looked clean. All the staff were friendly and food/drinks were made quickly. Matcha was definitely not the best I’ve had, which is sad but often to be expected. Scone was decent but definitely needs to have that crispy exterior!

... Read moreAfter sharing my initial thoughts on Tamper Cafe, I've had a few friends ask for even more details, especially since it's becoming a popular spot in Medford, MA! So, I wanted to dive a bit deeper into what you can expect if you're planning a visit. First off, let's talk about the *vibe*. The article mentioned the cute, minimalistic atmosphere, but it really is a standout feature. From the moment you see the *exterior of Tamper cafe*, it has this inviting, neighborhood gem feel. The chalkboard sign outside often highlights daily specials, which is a nice touch. Inside, the brown and wood tones create a very calming and aesthetically pleasing space. What I really appreciated is the amount of seating available – those farm style tables are not just pretty, they're practical. There are plenty of spots to settle in, whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or looking to get some work done. I even noticed some nice outdoor seating when I arrived, perfect for warmer days. It doesn't feel cramped, which can be a huge plus when cafes get busy. The interior, with its counter with baked goods beautifully displayed and strategically placed *plants*, really makes you feel at home. It’s definitely a place you could linger in. Now, about the menu beyond my matcha and scone adventure. While my iced matcha latte (with oat milk) was a bit of a letdown in terms of flavor intensity, I heard good things about their coffee offerings. Looking at the *menu board*, there's a good variety of *food and drink options*. They have classic espresso drinks, pour-overs, and a selection of teas. For food, besides the blueberry scone I tried (which was quite good, by the way – moist with frozen blueberries!), they also had other pastries and some savory options like breakfast sandwiches. The decent prices definitely make it an attractive option, especially for the quality of ingredients you seem to be getting. I saw a few people enjoying what looked like tempting avocado toasts and other baked goods from the counter, which I'm keen to try on my next visit. The fact that the kitchen is visible and looks impeccably clean always adds a layer of confidence about what you're consuming. The staff were consistently friendly and efficient, and everything came out quickly. This is crucial when you’re on a tight schedule or just eager to enjoy your treat. Parking might be a bit tricky depending on the time of day, as it's a bustling area, so keep that in mind. Overall, Tamper Cafe is more than just a place for a drink; it's a lovely local hangout. Despite my personal matcha preference not being fully met, the overall experience, from the welcoming exterior to the cozy interior of Tamper cafe and the wide array of *food and drink options*, still earns it a solid 3.5/5 in my book. It’s a place I'd recommend for its ambiance, service, and the potential for a great bite to eat.
