How to take advantage of the warm weather
#weekendactivities #lemon8challenge
As the weather gets warmer we all wan to be outside! Here’s how I take advantage of these lovely sunny days:
Easy lake and river days: {💰Price: free to $} As a CA native I can attest that sitting by the water in the sun is my therapy. Going out with friends and a good snack or two, a bev, and a speaker or good book. This makes for an easy all day activity. If you want a more exercise inclined activity pick a spot that you have to hike to. The app ‘AllTrails’ can help you find some of the best and somewhat secluded spots.
Kava Bar: {💰Price: $} If you’re 18+ and want a cool place to hang out, relax, and possibly make a few new friends I highly recommend trying Kava Kava. Kava is a root that helps ease anxiety, stress, and all in all just helps you relax.
Go out to lunch and dine outside: {💰Price: $-$$$} Now that the weather is warming up it’s bearable to sit outside when dining, best way to take advantage of this is to go out during spring before it gets too hot and actually enjoy your meal, by yourself or with a friend, outside. You get a tan and a full belly, and who could be mad at that!?!
All around there are so many fun ways to get outside, we should take advantage of this lovely weather while we can!
When the temperatures soar, it's easy to feel like the only option is to hide indoors with the AC blasting. But as someone who absolutely loves making the most of every sunny day, I’ve discovered that hot weather doesn't mean sacrificing outdoor fun! It just means getting a little smarter about how we enjoy it. Here are my extended tips for truly savoring those precious warm days, even when it's scorching outside. My absolute favorite way to beat the heat is to embrace water activities. While sitting by a lake or river is fantastic, actually getting in the water is a game-changer. Think about investing in an inflatable float or a paddleboard – they offer a refreshing way to spend hours on the water. When I head out for a *relaxing day on a sandy beach*, my essentials include a wide-brimmed hat, SPF 50 sunscreen (and I reapply, trust me!), and most importantly, a cooler packed to the brim. This isn’t just for a few snacks and a single bev; I load it with insulated water bottles, sparkling water, and even some homemade electrolyte popsicles. Finding a spot with natural shade from trees or bringing a pop-up canopy can transform a sunny spot into a comfortable oasis. It’s all about creating those perfect 'Chill day in my life' moments, where the only thing on your agenda is floating and soaking up the good vibes. Another hack I swear by for enjoying the outdoors when it's hot is timing. Early mornings and late evenings become your best friends. Imagine a brisk bike ride as the sun just begins to rise, or a peaceful walk through a shaded park before the midday heat kicks in. The air is cooler, often with a gentle breeze, and you get to experience the beauty of nature without breaking a sweat. Similarly, sunset picnics are magical. Pack light, refreshing foods – think fruit salads, cold pasta, or wraps – along with plenty of ice-cold *drinks*. Lay out a blanket in a park, watch the sky change colors, and enjoy the cooler evening air. These moments are prime for capturing those 'Weekend in pics' memories that look effortlessly fun and relaxed. If you're in an urban area and don't have easy access to a lake or river, don't despair! Look for city parks with splash pads or public fountains where you can cool off. Some outdoor cafes or restaurants strategically use misters on their patios, making outdoor dining enjoyable even on a warm afternoon. I always check for these little amenities when planning to eat out. Or, consider moving your outdoor dining plans to later in the evening when the sun has softened its intensity. And for those times when the sun has had its fill, or you simply need a cool, calm retreat after a day of adventures, a Kava bar (for those 18+) can be a unique find. It provides a chilled-out atmosphere, perfect for decompressing and unwinding. While not an 'outdoor' activity, it serves as an excellent complement to a *warm weather weekend*, offering a peaceful transition from an active, sunny day to a relaxed evening. It's a great way to meet new people in a low-key setting and adds another dimension to your summer experiences. Ultimately, making the most of hot weather is about mindful planning and embracing the unique opportunities it presents. Don't let the heat keep you trapped inside; with these tips, you can still craft beautiful, refreshing, and memorable outdoor experiences all summer long!
