If you're struggling with the native editing, just play your Live Photo and pause it exactly on the frame you want. Then, take a screenshot! You might need to crop out the extra interface elements, but it's a guaranteed way to get a still image. This works well for those spontaneous shots where you just need *that one specific expression*! Turn Off Live Photo When Not Needed: This might sound obvious, but it's often overlooked. If you know you want a still image, simply tap the Live Photo icon (the three concentric circles) in your camera app before you take the picture. It will have a slash through it, indicating it's off. This ensures you capture a regular still photo from the get-go. Consider Third-Party Apps (for more control): For those who want more advanced control, there are apps specifically designed to extract high-quality still frames from Live Photos or videos.
