Hellooo Lemon8! Long time, no see! I’ve been super busy with work and some health problems, but I’m so glad to be back! I wanted to share my Ulta haul with y’all! Usually these are purchases I would make in store, but with how crazy my work schedule was and the number of online exclusive things I wanted I decided to have it shipped and take advantage of that free GWP.
🛍The Ordinary: I’ve use both of these serums in the past but had ran low, so I wanted to replace them! I also bought the eye solution to try out because I really have been looking extra tired lately.
🛍Touchland: Lemon Lime hand sanitizer! I wanted something different than my current watermelon one and wanted another to keep in my backpack!
🛍Good Molecules: I have actually never tried this brand before, but have heard some pretty good things! My original glycolic acid toner was discontinued, so this appeared to be the closest formula I could find. I also bought the squaline oil because I’ve wanted Gua Sha for frequently in the new year and needed a good, neutral face oil to do so!
🛍Tony Moly: I love these jelly lip melts! I want to post a more in depth review later on, but I’ve been eyeing both the hot cocoa and toasted marshmallow forever! I’m so glad I finally got them!
🛍Free Gift with purchase: I believe I had to spend around $70 to receive this gift, but I was so glad to get it! It has lots of different mini sizes and brands of products I already use that will def come in handy if I want to try something a little different or when I am traveling!
... Read moreWe all love a good freebie, right? Especially when it comes to beauty hauls! I recently snagged an Ulta Free Gift with Purchase, and like many of you, I always wonder: is it really worth hitting that minimum spend, especially when I'm stocking up on my go-to skincare like The Ordinary?
For me, the decision to aim for a GWP often comes down to a few key factors. First, am I already planning to buy products that get me close to the spend threshold? In this Ulta haul, I was restocking some essentials like The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG, which are staples in my routine. I also wanted to try out the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 eye solution and some new items from Good Molecules, specifically their Squalane Oil and Glycolic Exfoliating Toner. These purchases naturally brought me close to the GWP requirement, making it feel less like an extra splurge and more like a bonus.
Then, I look at the actual contents of the free gift. My Ulta GWP was surprisingly good because it included a fantastic mix of different mini sizes. The OCR results from the product images show brands like N°7, ZITSTICKA, belif, OSEA, and elf. These are perfect for several reasons. Firstly, they're ideal for travel. Instead of decanting my full-size products, I can just throw these minis into my toiletry bag. Secondly, they're a brilliant way to try something a little different without committing to a full-size product. How many times have you wanted to test a new serum or cleanser but hesitated to buy the large version? These miniature versions are a low-risk way to explore new brands and see how they integrate into your current routine. For instance, getting a belif moisturizing product or an OSEA facial oil in the GWP means I can see if these higher-end options work for my skin type before investing fully.
Another aspect I consider is how the GWP complements my existing skincare. While the main Ulta haul focused on my core skincare needs from The Ordinary and Good Molecules, the GWP introduced me to other beneficial products. For example, a ZITSTICKA mini could be a great emergency spot treatment, or a N°7 sample might offer a different anti-aging ingredient to test out. It's like expanding my skincare arsenal without having to budget for it separately. The elf product, while not skincare, is always a handy makeup addition, showing the versatility of these gifts.
So, was this Ulta free gift with purchase worth it for my skincare-heavy haul? Absolutely! When approached strategically, these gifts can be an amazing way to expand your beauty horizons, discover new favorites, and get more bang for your buck. It definitely made my Ulta shopping experience even more rewarding, and I've already earmarked a few of those minis for my next trip!
I personally love good molecules! I work there btw and recommend it to everyone, especially beginners at skincare. It has transformed my skin overnight. I have super sensitive skin and the whole brand is meant for that. Plus it’s super affordable! Its made by the people who make the ordinary as well, but its less harsh
