My air fryer has become an absolute staple in my kitchen, not just for salmon, but for so many versatile seafood dishes. While my heart belongs to this amazing air-fried salmon recipe, I know many of you might be curious about exploring other fish, or perhaps you've even searched for something like 'air fryer eel' looking for similar quick seafood solutions. Good news! The principles for air frying most fish are quite similar, and with a few tweaks, you can adapt this method for a variety of catches. Whether it's cod, tilapia, or even something a bit more unique like eel, the air fryer's magic lies in its ability to deliver that beautiful, slightly crispy exterior and a tender, flaky interior with minimal effort. The key is often in the seasoning and monitoring the cooking time, as thinner fillets will cook faster. Beyond the Sazón, paprika, and Cajun blend I love for my salmon, don't be afraid to experiment! For a brighter flavor profile, I sometimes opt for a lemon-dill seasoning with a touch of garlic powder. Or, if I'm feeling a bit adventurous, a smoky chipotle rub can really elevate the taste. The goal is to build up flavor without overpowering the delicate taste of the fish. Achieving that perfect reddish-brown crust, like the one you see on my air-fried salmon, often comes down to a light brush of oil and a good, even coating of your chosen spices. Another fantastic aspect of air frying fish is how effortlessly you can put together a complete meal. I almost always pair my air-fried fish with simple yet satisfying sides. Crispy seasoned potato wedges are a personal favorite – they cook beautifully in the air fryer right alongside the fish, or you can pop them in first. And for a pop of color and a boost of nutrients, vibrant steamed broccoli florets are a must. It makes the entire meal feel balanced and incredibly satisfying, proving that healthy eating doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. My top tips for air frying any fish, including if you're venturing into recipes for different varieties, are: always preheat your air fryer for a few minutes; don't overcrowd the basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness; and use a meat thermometer if you're unsure about doneness – most fish is cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and flakes easily with a fork. With these simple tricks, you'll be enjoying perfectly cooked, flavorful air-fried fish every time, making healthy eating a delicious and fuss-free part of your routine.
