I’m Scared of Failure
I know most of Instagrams #motivational reels would probably say the opposite. But I am scared as hell. I’m scared of waking up one day and I’m stuck in the corporate cycle instead of traveling & learning. I’m scared I’ll have kids and not be able to afford taking them on a summer trip or miss there sports events and recitals because I will be working for some guy who’s pretty much retired and sitting on pounds of cash. I’m scared that since I’m 20 going on 21 in Nov, that if I don’t make something of and for myself NOW that I will regret living. I know myself. I can work for someone else for a little while but I CANNOT settle with that forever. Not when MY life, MY time is on the line. It’s probably selfish but, where I’m at in life right now is not enough. It’s comfortable and it’s convenient. But I need more. I cannot be comfortable suppressing myself of what I love. Freedom, abundance, & security. I will do what I have to do to get my makeup business up and running. And I hope anyone reading this is willing to help even the tiniest bit.
Fear of failure is a common emotion that often holds many young adults back from pursuing their true passions and dreams. This fear can stem from concerns about financial stability, missing out on meaningful life experiences, and the anxiety of living a life of regret if goals are not achieved within certain timeframes. It’s important to recognize that acknowledging this fear is the first step toward overcoming it. Many successful entrepreneurs and creatives have similarly faced doubts but pushed forward by focusing on what truly matters to them, such as personal freedom, living authentically, and creating value in their own unique way. For someone aiming to escape the conventional corporate cycle and evolve their own makeup business, like in this article, setting clear, achievable goals is crucial. Breaking down the larger vision into actionable steps can reduce overwhelm and build momentum. Additionally, understanding financial literacy and managing resources wisely can alleviate the fear of instability. Planning for future family needs, travel aspirations, and life milestones alongside a business plan creates a safety net and peace of mind. Networking and seeking support from communities or mentors within the beauty and entrepreneurial space provide guidance and encouragement. Shared experiences help diminish feelings of isolation related to fear. Ultimately, living a life on your own terms involves embracing risk intelligently, learning from failures, and continuously adapting. Freedom, abundance, and security come not only from comfort zones but from courage, perseverance, and passion-driven action. If you resonate with these fears, remember that they do not define your story. Use them as motivation to build a fulfilling path that prioritizes your passions, values, and dreams.
