A WEEKEND AS A PET SITTER 🦴🐾

Meet 6 month old Boston Terrier Ollie 🐾

I had the opportunity to take care of him this past weekend and i could not have been more excited!! Sweetest and most well behaved baby!! 🫶🏻🤍

* Friday we played fetch and went for a walk..

* Saturday we went to the dog park and there was only one dog but on the big dog side of the park. That did not get in the way of Ollie and his new friend they ran around the fence as if they were chasing eachother 🥹 that same evening we went for a hike and he asked me to carry him into his seat where he immediately fell asleep he was exhausted!! Hahaha

* Sunday I took Ollie to the beach for the first time and he loved it so much!! Missing him already 😭#Petlover #lemon8challenge

If you're considering jumping into weekend pet sitting, let me share a few insights and tips from my own adventures. It’s more than just feeding; it’s about creating a safe, fun, and loving environment for a furry friend. First off, preparation is key. Before the weekend kicks off, I always make sure to chat extensively with the pet's owner. We cover everything from feeding schedules and dietary restrictions to favorite toys and any medications. For Ollie, it was clear he loved fetch, so I made sure to pack some extra balls! Knowing their routine helps maintain a sense of normalcy for the dog, making the transition smoother. Don't forget to ask about emergency contacts, vet details, and any quirks – like if they get nervous around certain sounds or other dogs. When the weekend officially starts, my focus is always on fun and comfort. Our weekend with Ollie was packed! We started with some energetic playtime, just like his picture showing him playing fetch. Then, a good long walk helps them settle in. Saturday was a highlight – we went to the dog park! While the article mentioned only one other dog on the big side, it’s a great reminder that even a quiet park can offer plenty of stimulation. Just seeing Ollie panting happily after running around reminded me how much dogs love to explore. For those who enjoy the outdoors, finding a good hiking trail with Ollie was amazing. The picture of him after hiking, fast asleep in his seat, perfectly captures the joy of a well-exercised pup! It’s all about finding activities that match their energy level. One of the absolute best parts of our weekend was taking Ollie to the beach for the first time. The photo of him on the sandy beach with a lifeguard tower in the background is one of my favorites! Introducing a dog to new experiences like this, watching their curiosity and pure joy, is simply priceless. Always check if dogs are allowed and if there are any specific rules. After all the excitement, ensuring they have a comfortable spot to rest and recover is crucial. Ollie’s deep sleep after our adventures proved he had a fantastic time. Pet sitting isn't just about walks and food; it's about building a temporary bond. It’s about being present, offering affection, and creating happy memories. The satisfaction of seeing a happy, well-cared-for dog at the end of the weekend is immeasurable. If you're passionate about animals and looking for a fulfilling way to spend your weekends, I highly recommend pet sitting. Every dog has a unique personality, and discovering it, even for just a few days, is an adventure in itself. Just remember to enjoy every wag, every cuddle, and every sleepy sigh!
